Otipemisiwak: A National Conference on Métis Self-Government

On March 9 and 10, 2020, here in the National Capital Region, on the unceded Algonquin, Anishinabek territory, the people of the Métis Nation from the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario met at the Otipemisiwak conference, hosted by the Métis Nation of Ontario, for the first-ever national conference on Métis self-government.

I had the opportunity to say a few words. It was really heartwarming to see my fellow Métis gather to maintain and strengthen their relationships and work toward realizing Métis self-government.
