Yesterday, I was joined by these two powerful women at the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee for the first day of study for Bill S-250. This was the next step towards having this bill become law and criminalizing the practice of forced and/or coerced sterilization.

Alisa Lombard (Lawyer leading the class action) and Nicole Rabbit (Survivor and member of the Survivors Circle for Reproductive Justice) spoke eloquently and shared critical information that will greatly aid in the study of Bill S-250.

I was also grateful to have the opportunity to speak and answer questions as the Sponsor of Bill S-250. This bill has been directed by survivors of forced sterilization. I am honoured to be their voice in the Senate of Canada.
